Pengaruh Pemahaman Soteriologi dari Perspektif Reformed Terhadap Keyakinan Keselamatan Jemaat di Gereja SIB Iran Beluran

Abstract

The doctrine of soteriology constitutes the core of Christian teaching concerning human salvation through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Within Reformed theology, salvation is understood as a free gift of God bestowed through faith in Christ. Although the Sabah Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) Church is theologically grounded in Reformed principles, the understanding of salvation at the local church level is not always uniform, leading to uncertainty among congregants regarding their assurance of salvation. This study aims to analyze the influence of the soteriological doctrine from a Reformed perspective on the assurance of salvation among the congregation of SIB Iran Beluran Church. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative methods through questionnaires distributed to baptized members with qualitative methods involving literature reviews and in-depth interpretation of the quantitative data. The data were analyzed using regression testing alongside theological interpretation based on Reformed sources. The findings reveal a significant relationship between soteriological understanding and the level of assurance of salvation among the congregation. These result indicate that a robust theological understanding aligned with Reformed principles plays a vital role in fostering firm faith amidst life's challenges. This study offers practical contributions for the church in designing systematic and consistent theological instruction.
